Privacy Policy for EggTimer
This policy explains how data is processed when you use the EggTimer iOS app and its Live Activity. The separate Website Privacy Policy also applies when you visit this website.
This English version is provided for convenience. In case of discrepancies, the German version is authoritative.

2. Core privacy principle
EggTimer can be used without a user account or sign-in. Licata Studio does not operate a server for storing your app content. The app contains no advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs and does not perform cross-app or cross-company tracking.
3. Data processed locally in the app
Depending on how you use EggTimer, the app stores:
- your selected egg size, doneness, and starting temperature;
- the status and configuration of an active timer;
- your cooking history and feedback about cooking results; and
- local app settings.
This data is processed exclusively in local app storage on your device. It is used to provide the timer and personalize future cooking times based on your feedback. EggTimer does not transmit this data to Licata Studio or any analytics service.
Where processing is necessary to provide the app features you choose, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Where purely local processing does not fall within the scope of the GDPR, no data is transferred to Licata Studio.
4. Alarms and Live Activity
If you grant alarm permission and start a timer, EggTimer uses the iOS system features AlarmKit and Live Activities. This allows the active timer to appear on the Lock Screen or in the Dynamic Island and alert you when the cooking time ends. You can change the permission at any time in iOS Settings. EggTimer does not use its own push notification server.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR in connection with the timer feature you activate.
5. Apple services and device backups
When you download or update the app, Apple processes App Store and device data under its own responsibility. Local EggTimer data may also be included in a device backup that you enable. The scope and processing of such backups depend on your Apple settings and Apple’s privacy terms. Licata Studio does not receive a copy of your device backup.

6. Storage period and deletion
Local data remains stored until you reset or delete it in the app, or remove the app from your device. Existing device or cloud backups are subject to the settings and deletion periods of the backup provider you choose.
7. Contacting support
If you contact support by email or phone, Licata Studio processes the contact details and content you provide to handle your request. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where the request relates to a contract or pre-contractual steps; otherwise, it is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The data is deleted once the request has been fully resolved and no statutory retention obligation or legitimate reason requires further storage.
8. Your rights
Where the legal requirements are met, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. Because Licata Studio does not receive the local app data, Licata Studio cannot access or delete that data for you. You can remove it directly from your device.
Privacy requests may be sent to info@licatastudio.de.

9. Automated decisions and changes
No decision based solely on automated processing produces legal or similarly significant effects within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR. This policy will be updated if app features, service providers, or legal requirements change. The current version is available at this address.
